In late November 2024, I had the pleasure of flying down to Mexico to document Hailee and Zach’s beautiful wedding on the beaches of Cancun. Funny enough, only three years prior, I had documented a wedding next door to Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres, so I was quite familiar with this specific beach at this point. A beautiful beach I may add!
Hailee + Zach pulled out all the stops ensuring their day was perfect. Aside from the gorgeous blue sea and great weather, all the details that pulled this wedding together truly made it ‘one for the books’.
We all need to take a minute to gush over Hailee’s dress. She could not have picked a more perfect gown for a southern destination wedding. The entire dress was sheer with appliqués that added a stunning amount of texture and detail to the dress. To tie the look together Hailee accessorized with Tiffany and Co earrings and a pearl bracelet that matched the one her mom and sister wore, too. Zach of course looked dapper in a light linen suit - a wise choice for a hot climate!
Hailee had her sister officiate the ceremony which was a surprise to all. There was not a dry eye during the vow exchange which of course made for some beautiful raw and candid moments. By the time the ceremony ended, we hustled our way down to the beach where family, wedding party and couple’s portraits would take place. Hailee called me a few weeks before we all flew down and had requested I prioritize her photos with Zach on the beach the most, and I said “say no more!’
We worked with a stunning golden hour backdrop right up until it was time for the reception to start. The groomsmen chose a cheeky way to enter… a Baywatch moment if you will. The evening was filled with many laughs, a few tears, and finished with QUITE the party on the dance floor. So much so that I lost my voice completely, and continued to not have a voice for the next 5 days!!
What I appreciated most about a wedding at this specific resort was that they only booked one wedding per day. Often times resorts will work with multiple weddings in a day and that usually leads to some sort of chaos throughout the itinerary. It was smooth sailing for Hailee and Zach’s event and as a wedding vendor, I 100% appreciate that!
