Mati Ottawa, Engagement Session

I met Carl and Chloe during a destination wedding in Mexico in 2022. Chloe was gushing about her 10 year relationship and the anticipation of her hopeful engagement coming soon. A few months later, Carl popped the question and I was so excited to get the inquiry for their 2024 wedding!

Our original plans for the engagement session was at a beach this summer. However, after I shared some fun engagement session ideas on my Instagram including a bar scene, Chloe reached out eagerly wanting to attempt that instead. Carl + Chloe are big foodies and cocktail fans so it honestly made sense for them to have a bar scene as their setting! Carl had a family member that was an employee of Mati, downtown Ottawa which was a total bonus for us because we had the advantage of using the space when it was closed during Mondays.

I had so much fun playing with light and different editing styles for this engagement session. I am always such a big fan when clients push to include favourite hobbies and interests for their shoot. It truly does allow the couple to shine their true personalities through!
