I was so excited when Carmela had emailed me asking if I would be available for a very last minute elopement at the Couple’s Resort in Whitney. Of course, I said yes. How can one ever pass up the opportunity to document someone’s elopement?! It was Rick and Carmela’s 10 year anniversary, and they couldn’t have thought of a better way to celebrate that, then to enjoy a weekend at the resort, hike through Algonquin Park, and elope.
What a simply perfect day it was. The snow flakes gracefully fell, and the sun was hazed by clouds. Carmela did all her makeup and hair herself at her own pace, with no stress. The way Rick and Carmela talked about their decision to elope proved just how much they truly love each other. I couldn’t of thought of a better couple that fit the decision of eloping quite so well.
After photographing some of their bridal shots, we decided to run into Algonquin for a bit to take in the greenery while the snow fell. Once we had visited the Logging Museum in Algonquin, it was time to head back to the resort so Carmela and Rick could say their “I do’s” in an intimate ceremony looking over Galeairy Lake. Even with the short time i was there to document such an important time for Rick + Carmela, it was so very special, and I was beyond overjoyed to have been able to document the next chapter of their love story.
